Memorandum of Understanding Signing Between China International Capital Corporation and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange

On September 16th, 2019, CICC and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The official signing ceremony was witnessed by distinguished guests from both parties, including H.E. Mr. Pierre Gramegna, Minister of Finance of Luxembourg, H.E. Dr. Marc Hübsch, Ambassador of Luxembourg to China, Mr. Robert Scharfe, CEO and President of the LuxSE Executive Committee and Mr. Mingjian Bi, CEO of CICC.

During the ceremony, both parties exchanged views on the potential future collaborations between two institutions and achieved multiple important mutual understandings. Both parties agreed that the China - Luxembourg relations are at their best period in history and more frequent communications and collaboration in the finance fields between the two countries are expected. CICC and the LuxSE will jointly explore the cooperation potentials in fields such as cross-market product offering, financial innovation, and green finance, as well as jointly promote China’s integration into the global capital markets.

As the largest bond exchange in Europe and the second largest investment fund hub in the world, the LuxSE plays a significant role in the European financial market. The LuxSE has witnessed the listing of more than 160 green bonds and Luxembourg has been seen as the ideal listing venue for the offshore green bond issuance.
