"CICC Forum (US) 2012" Succesfully Held in New York

Given the fact that the forum took place against the backdrop of the power transition of China's central government scheduled to happen later this year, and amid the process of pursuing economic restructuring, "CICC Forum (US) 2012" naturally unfolded around the theme of "Transition and Reform". Mr. Levin Zhu, the President and CEO of CICC, delivered the opening remarks and brought the discussion of global and China's financial situations to the forefront in front of 200 guests. A veteran market practitioner of China's economy and financial reforms, and now the Chairman and CEO of C.V. Starr, Mr. Maurice Greenberg shared his views regarding the outlook of global financial development and China's economy during his keynote speech, which was resonated and followed by another distinguished keynote speaker Mr. Xiaoxue Li. Mr. Li, currently serving as the Executive Vice Chairman of China Association of Public Companies and the former Vice Chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission, elaborated on US and China's capital markets and probable future reforms before he exchanged views with the audience. Dr. Haizhou Huang, the Co-head of Research Department, and chief strategist of CICC led a discussion on "China's economy and financial market reform". He was joined by influential policy makers from the People's Bank of China and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, and pitted against two notable American economists. Shortly after, the second panel discussion kicked off with Dr. Jin Qiu, the Co-head of Research Department of CICC, the Deputy Managing Director of IMF Dr. Min Zhu presenting to the audience an illuminating argument with respect to the global financial situation with vivid slides. During the second discussion about "Investment Opportunities and Risks", panelists from major Wall Street institutions and China's sovereign fund put assets allocation and risks into perspective, and exchanged the views with investors and guests.
Once again, this forum fully epitomized CICC's philosophy of "Rooted in China, Connecting the World" while reflecting on our commitment to serve as a "two-way bridge of capital" fueling the in-depth evolution of US-China financial cooperation. On one hand, building on its rich stock of experiences covering the macro-economy, a cross-section of industries and capital market endeavors, CICC has become the benchmark for investment banking businesses in China by way of effectively supporting Chinese companies in capital raising and investment initiatives in the broad context of local capital market development and reform, along with governments and regulators. On the other hand, CICC has always adhered to its corporate culture of "People Centered, Client First, Diligence and Professionalism, and Quality" when it comes to developing overseas markets and serving international clients. Leveraging its well-established knowledge base and resource pools, CICC caters to various dimensions of the marketplace, enabling international clients to better understand China's policies and local businesses, while contributing to the "go global" efforts of Chinese companies.
"CICC Forum (US)" is an important signature event. The first "CICC Forum (US)" was held in September 2011 at the Waldorf Astoria, New York. Dr. Kissinger attended the forum and delivered the opening remarks. He was joined by other guests of honor in the ensuing discussions over the theme of "Assessing Growth Potential and Hard-landing Risks".
